Frequently Asked Questions
General Information
What is GLOSSDRESS?
GLOSSDRESS, or GLOSS for short, is a project started in Hong Kong by Scarlett Sensi, which officially moved operations to the USA in 2021. It’s an international collective of open-minded makeup artists that beautify crossdressing clients, from head to toe, in the privacy of a secret safe space, called the Temple of Feminization. We specialize in artistically provocative photoshoots, especially in the style of “forced feminization”. We are open-minded and prefer kinky punk-rock content creation over boring glamour shoots.
Who is GLOSS for?
We specialize in male to female makeovers and exist to serve crossdressers and the beauticians who love dressing them up! Our clients range from CDs who have been dressing up for decades and comfortable being in public, to the timid guy who has never been fully dressed en femme. Our makeovers are suited to the MTF spectrum, including femboys, sissies, drag queens, trans folx, androgynous individuals, and women too. Anyone 18 years and older is welcome to enjoy our services.
What is the Temple of Feminization?
The Temple is a safe space dedicated to crossdressers and the beauticians who love dressing them up. It’s a beauty salon, a photography studio, a psychedelic dungeon, and an artistic work in progress. We provide the makeup, outfits, accessories, backdrops, photographers, and the right makeup artists to meet your needs. The original Temple, which was created on Lamma Island, HK, was forced to move overseas after the 2019 government protests and now operates in Pawtucket, RI, USA. The GLOSS Collective in HK was still dressing up clients at a hotel in Yau Ma Tei until 2024. Our focus is now completely on Rhode Island.
What does GLOSS stand for?
GLOSS stands for ‘greater love of secret self’. Our aim is to make you feel beautiful, even in your most vulnerable state. We won’t force you, but we encourage all of our clients to be proud of what makes them unique.
Why choose GLOSS?
The Collective isn’t your average team of makeup artists, and the Temple isn’t your average beauty salon. Instead of going to a dressing studio, your options aren’t limited by one beautician. Whatever look you’re going for, whatever the vibe you want in your photography, whatever scene you’re trying to recreate, whatever your uncomfortable-to-explain kink may be, as long as there’s no physical contact involved, we probably have someone within our collective to accommodate you. We’re experienced in listening to the needs of our clients and making them feel comfortable, accepted, and especially beautiful. Go ahead and try to surprise us with your request. We bet you can’t!
When is the RI Temple open?
Our schedule is flexible, but we prefer to make appointments between the hours of 10am and 10pm. Weekdays and weekends work equally well for us.
Makeovers & Photography
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Make sure that you are clean, fresh, and ready to be feminized. For best results, we request that you shave your face as smoothly as possible. This means shaving with the grain and then shaving against the grain. If you wish to skip the latter step due to irritation or sensitive skin, that’s okay! We also would like it if you shaved your legs too but understand if you cannot. Though if you’ve never shaved your legs before, we recommend trying it at least once! With or without a makeover, it is extremely freeing to experience the feminine feeling of rubbing your smooth legs together, especially while wearing stockings.
What kind of camera do you use for shooting?
Scarlett almost always shoots with her Fuji XT3. You’re welcome to bring your own memory card or purchase the memory card directly from the camera. We usually send photos directly to clients within 1-2 weeks of their session. Alternatively, you’re welcome to hand us your smartphone for shooting photos instead. Whatever you’re most comfortable with, we’re here to accommodate you.
How many photos can I expect from my photoshoot?
If we shoot with your smartphone, you may end up with hundreds of photos. If we shoot using our professional camera, you’ll end up with about 20-50 high quality photos per hour of photoshooting. You’re allowed to use both, if you want.
Who owns the photos from my session?
Every photo from your makeover is yours to keep. We don’t own them, you do! However, we’d love to be able to feature you on our website, magazine, and social media pages. That’s why we created our new Model Program and exposure discounts in June, 2024! We will never post your photos without your permission – it’d be illegal anyway. As of right now, the bulk of makeover photos consist of Scarlett being feminized, as we believe it provides an ample example of what to expect during your time at the Temple.
How will Scarlett return my photos?
She uses Google Drive to send your finished photoset, usually within one to two weeks. You may download it directly from Drive before giving us the green light to delete it permanently. If you’re paranoid about Scarlett having access to your photos, you’re welcome to bring your own memory card. In fact, that makes Scarlett’s life easier since she won’t have to cull and edit your photoset like she does for all of her clients.
How do you keep beauticians safe if you’re not present for the ‘Sissy Doll’ or ‘One of the Girls’ makeovers?
Have you been to the Temple before? If not, do you have references from Dominatrices you’ve seen in the past? If not, you can still book but Scarlett will have to be present during your session. You’re not required to pay extra for Scarlett to be Domme photographer or for her to dress en femme; she’ll be present during the session, free of charge, to ensure the safety of your beautician(s). You’ll see this when filling out the booking form.
Do I need to sign anything?
You’ll need to sign a waiver for ANY session. For Sissification Sessions or any kinky photoshoot, you’ll need to also sign a 2257 and present a valid ID if any photos/videos will be taken, even if we use your personal camera/phone to take them, regardless of how the content will be used. Scarlett or your beautician will need to photograph your ID for 2257 records. This is how we stay legal and is non-negotiable.
What types of ID are accepted for 2257 records?
You’ll need a non-expired government-issued ID that includes your photograph and date of birth. Accepted forms of ID include: Driver’s license, Passport, State-issued identification card, Military identification card, Permanent resident card or Green Card.
Can I send a copy of my ID for 2257 records via email?
Yes! We’ll need three photos: A photo of the front of the ID, a photo of the back of the ID, and a photo of you holding the ID with both your face and the ID clearly visible.
What if I change my mind and want my photos made private or taken down?
No problem! We’re not in the business of making anyone uncomfortable. If you received a discount for your session, you may be required to pay the deficit depending on how many photos you’d like removed from our website/socials.
What’s the procedure for bondage?
We’ll be adding guest riggers to the roster in the near future but for now, Scarlett is the only one tying you up. If you’ll be tied up for your session, please bring proof of valid health insurance. We don’t need to take a photo of your card; we just need to see that it’s active.
Who will be facilitating the Sissification Sessions?
We have a few ladies, both AFAB and trans, on our roster who will be putting on these performances while dolling you up. Since these new makeovers are experimental, we haven’t yet established a beautician page to showcase each one. We’re still learning our strengths and weaknesses as we grow.
What’s the difference between (Vanilla) MUAs and GLOSS Girls?
Our Beauticians can be separated into two categories: MUAs and GLOSS Girls. Both open-minded and enthusiastic about putting makeup on men. They both want to see the feminine version of you come to life. The difference is that GLOSS Girls are prepared to handle sissies and conduct forced feminization roleplay during sessions. Some GLOSS Girls do makeup for a living but most don’t; their strong suit is being well-versed in kink/BDSM psychology.
Do you offer FTM makeovers too?
We specialize in MTF makeovers and love helping anyone shapeshift. We can’t promise your complete satisfaction with a FTM makeover but we will do our best. Email me at scarlett@glossdress.com and I’ll personally prepare a makeover and photoshoot to fit your needs.
Can my makeover include a pedicure?
Not all of our beauticians are as comfortable with clients’ feet as they are with hands. But ask us anyway when submitting your booking form and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. We encourage all of our clients to paint their toenails ahead of time, as they look better in open toed shoes. We love seeing bold colors on our clients. Own it, girl!
Is there sex involved?
Absolutely not! No prostituion or sexual acts are allowed during sessions. While we’re catering to the ‘forced feminization’ fantasy, we leave sexual contact out of our menu. We are a legally registered business, upholding state and federal laws, and we intend to keep it that way. Thanks for understanding!
Can I be slapped or spanked?
Unfortunately, we cannot physically impact you. This is due to legal reasons, as we do our best to avoid crossing any lines that could delegitimize our business in the eyes of the law. We can dominate you verbally, as much as you’d like. If it’s physical dominance you’re looking for, we suggest seeking a dominatrix.
Can I wear my chastity device?
Yes, we even encourage it. Disabling your cute little clitty is a great way to put you into a feminine headspace for your session.
Do you makeovers outside the Temple of Feminization?
We do makeup at Electricity Social Club in Providence, RI and for Tiffany Leigh’s GORGEOUS parties in Danbury, CT.
Can I bring my own clothes/shoes/wig/etc with me?
Absolutely! Whatever you’d like to wear and/or be photographed in, feel free to bring it.
Can I invite anyone to my makeover?
Contact us and we’ll figure it out. It ultimately depends on their involvement in your makeover, or if they’d like to be feminized as well.
Can we go outside while I’m dressed up?
Absolutely! We can do a few photos outside if you’re feeling up to it. We encourage our clients to experience going outside dressed en femme and understand this can be a bit scary to most crossdressers, especially the shy ones. But once you conquer that fear, you’ll be proud of yourself and consequently more confident!
I’m so nervous. What if I’m quiet or awkward?
Don’t worry, we get it! We’ve been part of the international kink & crossdressing communities for years and understand how society views this way of life. We’re experienced in calming people down with vibes/music/jokes and are ready to take on any challenge. We are very open-minded and will never judge you for what you’re into.
Booking & Payment
How do I book an appointment?
Visit our Contact page and fill out the Booking Form.
Who will see my Booking Form once it’s submitted?
Your submitted booking form goes straight to Scarlett’s inbox. She will then reach out to the Collective to find the beautician best suited for your makeover.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 50% deposit is required upon any booking. Deposits are non-refundable and must be paid over 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.
For the 100% discounted full-exposure clients booking a Classic or Couples Makeover, we require a $50 deposit. For the 100% discounted full-exposure clients booking a CoStar Makeover, we require a $100 deposit. In both of these instances, you’ll have your money refunded when you arrive on time.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, are accepted forms of payment for your deposit. After your session, cash is also accepted.
Should I tip my beautician?
You are not expected to tip your beautician. However, if you are fully satisfied with the quality of your makeover, we will happily accept your tip as confirmation of a job well done. Our team puts in a lot of hard work making you beautiful, but we love doing it anyway.
How many days of advance notice do I need for my booking?
2 days. We need at least 48 hours of advance notice to make sure your ideal beautician is available on the date you’ve requested.
Can I change or cancel my appointment date?
Yes, as long as it’s not within 72 hours of your original booking day/time. Everyone involved in your session is paid a deposit to hold your date/time for you. If you need to cancel your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Your deposit is non refundable but please at least give us the respect of letting us know you’re not coming; we’ll remember you for future bookings.
What if I’m late to my session?
Please respect our time the same way we respect yours. For clients who are less than 15 minutes late: we’ll still end your session at the same “end time”, so keep that in mind. For clients who are over 15 minutes late: your session will be canceled and your deposit won’t be refunded.
Can I book an overnight stay at the Temple?
Sorry but no, this is a professional studio. It would be a liability and we’re not permitted to house anyone on the premises.
What if I only want my makeup done and nothing else?
Contact scarlett@glossdress.com and we’ll discuss what kind of makeup you’re looking for. I could book you at the Temple or, for our more adventurous crossdressing clients, I could book you at a local salon in your area. We always vet salon owners to make sure they are open-minded enough to represent GLOSS.
